Engine Cleaning

Whether it’s engine cleaning or a complete vehicle strip job, soda blasting provides the solution. For optimum grime and grease removal, soda blasting makes engine cleaning or degreasing parts a much simpler job. Not only does it eliminate the need for dangerous and aggressive solvents, it removes the soaking and scrubbing usually associated with automotive cleaning. This can significantly reduce the amount of time needed for a clean up project – instead of days of sanding and grinding to remove layers of paint from a vehicle body, soda blasting allows projects like vehicles to be completely stripped in as little as 3 to 4 hours.

The relatively low blasting pressure of the Buster Blaster also means soda blasting is not only effective, but also safe to use for all automotive surfaces. Soda blasting effectively removes paint without damage to metal, glass, rubber, chrome or aluminium trim on vehicles. When crack detection is required in automotive applications, standard abrasive blasting tends to peen (hammer) the crack closed or pack the crack with abrasive, making crack detection more difficult. Soda blasting actually cleans out the crack, leaving it exposed and easy to see. The soda blast media’s water solubility means it can be used for fiddly engine cleaning jobs including cleaning critical engine components with small passageways. Once cleaned, the baking soda residue can be thoroughly rinsed off by dissolving in water. Traditional blast materials are not water-soluble and if left after cleaning, can pack into small passageways and possibly damage an engine while in operation.
